Why this website?
May 27, 2008 4:37 pm UncategorizedThis is a site to track research and events relating to the scientific study of hallucinogens and consciousness. I hope that documenting here some selections from my readings will be interesting or even helpful to others. My writing goals here are relatively modest: I primarily aim to provide abstracts and salient quotes from papers, linking to them whenever possible, with occasional brief comments about what interests me.
Most hallucinogen research still takes place within a pharmacology context. But increasingly, people are using research tools from other domains, such as neuroscience. Although I love pharmacology, I think our understanding of hallucinogens and human consciousness may both be improved by newer research tools. Science has yet to fully realize this promise, but there are many studies that contain gems of insight. Hopefully this site can track the literature and help reveal these gems.
The copyright notice at the bottom of the page is a bug. It should show a creative commons license, but it doesn’t yet. I hope to fix that soon.

Hey,
I found this blog through DrugMonkey and am looking forward to keeping up with it; all your posts have been fascinating so far.
The weird part is I just noticed that you’re a grad student at Helen Wills; I am in the entering first year class so I’m sure I’ll meet you soon.
